Police Staffing Numbers

(3/31/2010) At the community budget meeting at Celentano School this week, a resident asked about police staffing numbers incorrectly stating that we had 550-600 officers. In fact, the entire police department personnel count is 551 which includes sworn personnel and civilians. The budget (available in its entirety on the City website) clearly demonstrates that we have 452 sworn officers (at all ranks). This number includes the new class that will graduate tomorrow 4/1/10.
